Lil’ Dragons is a programme specifically designed for the needs of 4-6 year olds. Originally written by Martial Arts instructor and child psychologist Kimber Hill, it has since grown to become one of the most popular and successful children’s programmes in the world. The Lil’ Dragons syllabus gives each child a balanced blend of basic martial arts training along with an education in life skills and safety skills.
Lil’ Dragons classes are structured to provide a learning experience which is both fun and safe. The programme improves performance across a range of physical and intellectual skills without becoming too difficult or daunting for their age range. Lessons are an enjoyable mix of martial arts, games and discussion time. Students are graded every eight weeks and awarded different coloured belts for each grading, providing a continual motivation and a sense of achievement.
True to the nature of martial arts, the Lil’ Dragons classes provide children with values and skills which will enrich their lives outside the academy. While the classes will keep them fit, active and enthusiastic, they also learn to listen, control their bodies, to work in a team and independently. They learn the value of respect and to show good manners to adults and other children. The encouragement they receive gives them confidence and they learn to always try their best in the academy, at home and at school.
Discussions about safety topics help prepare the Lil’ Dragons for life. Learning about skills such as fire safety, traffic safety and stranger awareness ensures that they can avoid dangerous situations and know what to do in emergencies. The discussions also teach them to enjoy sharing information with one another, to think carefully and to be a good listener.
In our Lil’ Dragons classes we are dedicated to promoting a positive attitude, a fun approach to fitness, and an excellent foundation for your children’s life achievements.
